Marshall Kohler Marshall nervously paced about his bedroom, double checking he had everything. Wallet...check. Money...check. Spiffy attire. Yeah, it was the nicest he had. Thanks to some improvising and a lot of borrowed clothes, Marshall found himself in his old "church" suit with a nice cowboy cut t-shirt that someone else bought at the buckle for more money than Marshall had ever held in his hand at one time. His hair was..well it was nice. He paced nervously in his room..
"She's gonna think I'm too overdressed...she'll freeze me to my seat and slap me and it's over.." he panted wit himself as he adjusted his reading glasses, not realizing they were still on as he suddenly eyed his clock. He was supposed to meet her at the main door in 2 minutes. He began his mad dash.
Deianira Athanasios When Marshall arrived Dei was just arriving, her hair looked nice, sure, but she wasn't overly dressed up. Well, maybe it could be considered dressed up since she was wearing a pretty green top and a gypsy skirt of the same hue. But clothes like this breathed, and when she wasn't wearing skimpy, she was wearing gauzy. Her smile brightened a bit when she saw him.
"Hey Mar...shall?" Her words slowed and then questioned at the end. His attire confused her a little bit, but what she wore could be considered dressed nicely. "Hey...you look..really nice." Her cheeks were touched by a shade of pink.
Marshall Kohler Marshall just sort of glanced at the free flowing attire of Dei. Her hair so nice, the lovely gypsy skirt. This was a far cry from the tom boy he had uhh, initially met but he was lost in her eyes. Some heavy metal love ballads played in his head as he just watched her..and the way her lips moved. He suddenly got out of his shock.
"Oh..uhh..Hey Dei. Yeah..thanks you too." He swallowed, afraid he had dressed too nice but going with it anyway.
Deianira Athanasios "So, where are we going? A movie?" Deianira hadn't any idea what really constituted as a date. She'd seen romantic movies and all but this was different. It was real. She folded her hands behind her back and touched at her hair lightly before she stepped up to his side.
"I assume we do the walking thing, right?"
Marshall Kohler Marshall wasn't entirely sure but yeah, a movie was in mind. Something that no one could either complain about. He bit his lip slightly, still very much un aware of the glasses he was still wearing as he put his hands in his pocket and spoke with non verbals for a moment.
"Uhh..umm, yeah, movies. I was thinking Pirates, if that's all right. I heard it was good. I haven't seen the first one but yeah, it looks nice. And yeah..walking!"
Marshall strode over to the door, opening it for her as he coughed and nodded. "Walking is great..."
Deianira Athanasios "Pirates is good, I mean, good to do, I haven't seen it already." Dei was nervous, this was a date, and it wasn't, so it was a little confusing too. She nibbled on her lower lip as she walked out the door, but she paused to look at him, and she lifted her hand to touch the side of his glasses.
"I like those, they're cute," her hand drew away and she walked out into the cooler night air, which felt wonderful. Yes, walking was perfect, not only because they had no real alternative, but because it meant being outside, which she didn't get to be often.
Marshall Kohler Marshall was nervous as he suddenly saw her hand go to his face and touching the glasses as he blushed and swallowed as he followed her out the door.
"Oh..uh thanks. I sort of forgot I put them on.." Marshall said, quickly trying to match her stride as he eyed the outside, looking around at the weather. It was less humid than an Ozark summer..still hot though.
Deianira Athanasios It was in the low seventies, so her cooling aura would keep her quite comfortable, and probably Marshall as well as he walked at her side. She gave him a glance, and she wasn't so sure of what to talk about...what to say.
"So..." she said with her hands clasped together so he might not get the impression that she wanted to hold his hand. She didn't entirely feel like having a sweaty hand in hers that was probably a little warmer than it would have been any other time.
Marshall Kohler Marshall kept his hand in his pocket, just enjoying the gentle coolness he felt coming from Dei as he smiled nervously, just as confused as her. His shoes continued to click against the surface as he tried to break the silence.
"So..what do you plan to do once you umm, graduate?"
Deianira Athanasios "Uh...I dunno. Probably more school, get a job making snow cones or something. 'Cuz you know what I want and what happens usually aren't similar," she said with a smirk. "Because I want to be in the X-Men, and I want to be rich. But ..you know..those are hard things to get."
Dei glanced at him and she grinned a bit. "You said you were from the Ozarks..so..uhm...where are the Ozarks?"
Marshall Kohler Marshall smiled and sort of pictured Dei in those situations and chuckled, just saying quietly. "Well, I'm pretty sure you could pull of the X-Man jumpsuit really nicely." He bit his lip softly and coughed as he glanced back, pondering the question.
"The Ozarks. The Ozarks are a mountain range area located in South West Missouri. The biggest town near it is Springfield, which is the third biggest city in the state. So..I'm a native Missourian."
Deianira Athanasios Dei just wasn't all that good at geography. In the not so far distance they could see the theater lights already, and she'd welcome it, be a bit relieved by it. Less talking and more movie watching. "Right..." she didn't see herself like that, all sexy like Rogue or Storm. She was self conscious, but he already knew that.
"Ah, so ...north and east of me,..er..where I was from, got it."
Marshall Kohler Marshall could tell that his comment sat a little odd with her but he tried again, trying to make the save as they approached the theatre. "Better than me anyways. I mean, I'm fairly sure the suit would actually just weigh me down."
"Where are you from again?"
Deianira Athanasios "Well, they're a little too suffocating for me..." this felt awkward and uncomfortable. Maybe this wasn't a good idea. She was starting to have doubts about the whole evening. Marshall was sweet, but this...she wanted to run and hide in a hole somewhere.
"Phoenix, Arizona..." she glanced. "So I'm a desertonian..."
Marshall Kohler Marshall decided to nix that part of the conversation and as they approached the doors to the theatre. Marshall looked at the ground, silently kicking himself over and over and over in his head. God he was a fool.
The dynamic duo of angsty awkwardness reached the doors as Marshall opened the doors again, his eyes averting hers. He briefly glanced to her and nodded. "Wow..a bit warm down there. I take it that's why you transferred to New York?"
Deianira Athanasios "Yeah, mostly...my step-dad works with mutants all the time...so I probably could have stayed home ..you know..if home didn't make me sick." She shrugged and glanced up to the ticket box, there wasn't a line, so she was thankful, but she was wondering who was paying. She knew Marshall didn't have a whole lot of money.
"So..." but she didn't ask, so she got out her small little wallet and she asked the ticket seller for two to see Pirates of the Caribbean. And she fished out a twenty dollar bill.
Marshall Kohler Marshall began to dig into his wallet as he eyed at Dei with the same nervousness. He pondered and then said aloud.
"Uhh..I'll take care of the food?"
Deianira Athanasios Dei grabbed the tickets and glanced to Marshall, "Yeah, but you might wanna get your own popcorn if you don't want it cold, and I'll have an icee, and ..um...something chocolatey and sweet, like..ooh, Butterfinger bites," she said as she offered the money to the ticket agent and then glanced to the woman and smiled.
If dating was all like this, she'd have to pass from now on.
Marshall Kohler Marshall began to fish more money out of his wallet, knowing in the back of his head he was going to have to get a job around the mansion or something to pay back his 'loans.' Heeding Dei's requests, he bought her a very nice icee, her set of Butterfinger bites and eyed what amount of change he was going to have.
"I'll just have Sour Punch Straws, please." He said, forking over the cash. Needless to say, this wasn't exactly how he imagined dates were suppose to go.
Deianira Athanasios Deianira stepped up after Marshall and she frowned a bit. It wasn't money, that wasn't an issue, her parents sent her an allowance, so it was okay if she paid, she hadn't gone out in a while anyway.
"And a small popcorn, don't forget that, with lots of butter..." which she'd have to cool down, but ..that wasn't an issue for her.
Marshall Kohler Marshall bit his lip and nodded, pulling the remainder of his seen change and putting it on the table, covering her small pop corn and leaving him with cents as he sort of just chuckled to himself. It was a very sad, quiet chuckle. As he was handed her food, he slowly began to hand her the various sweets she had ordered and he tried to shrug it off haplessly.
"I got it covered, don't worry. You paid my way in. It's the...the least I could do."
Deianira Athanasios Now Dei felt guilty. Really guilty. She soft of took the icee and other things, and as soon as the popcorn neared her hand she iced it up, and began cooling the warm food down. "It's um..it's in theater six."
This can't be how dating feels. No one would do it if it felt like this. There would be people all over the worlds just ...not dating and not marrying and not having kids and the whole race would die. So is it me that sucks? Or him?
Deianira lead the way to the theater, and she chewed on her lip. So much for her first date ever.
Marshall Kohler Marshall bit his lip. He could feel the guilty oozing off her. Hell, the financial devil on his shoulder would kill to let her pay but his stubborn sensibility and upbringing were harping at him.
"Six..right." He nodded as he followed her. He didn't get it, he didn't get at all. He saw his brother go on dates. It wasn't this awkward. He picked up the girl, paid for her food and they were chummy like it was no tomorrow, even when it was with girls who were 'just friends'.
He was tempted to just outright let loose how he felt but young Marshall contained himself.
Deianira Athanasios When Deianira entered the auditorium and chose a seat, she realized she was about to be alone in the dark with him for a couple of hours. It only served to make her more nervous, more...anxious. She sat the popcorn on her lap, the icee in her cup holder on the opposite side from him and she began to munch on the cold popcorn. She offered a glance to him, then sighed.
"This isn't going good, is it? Not at all, and it's me, right? I'm sucking ...big time."
Marshall Kohler Marshall was comfortable in the dark usually. Half of his mutation was about his ability to bend it..but not by his lonesome? His heart beat pitter patter a bit as he held his diminutive Sour Punch Straws and took a seat next to her, about to open them when he glanced up at her and heard her state meant. For some reason..he couldn't help but heave a sigh and sort of..smile. That smile has when Marshall is a bit more open, eloquent.
"Dei, I think we're both sucking, big time. I'm..I'm winging this to be honest aside from the holding doors and paying stuff. If..if I tried to do anything that I learned from watching the date my brother, I'd be rightfully slapped, albeit that problem never happened to him." Marshall offered, looking to her with a chuckle, admitting defeat for his inability to be a great date.
Deianira Athanasios "This is my first date too, you know," she plucked up her icee, a mix of blue raspberry and red cherry, and she sipped through the straw. She felt like..well she felt lousy. "I know you don't have a lot of cash either so ..I feel bad that you're paying for things when I can afford it. My parents send me an allowance, I have to take care of goob too, who I know really really makes your life difficult around me. And you're really sweet and brave to put up with that little butt.."
She turned a bit and she lifted the arm rest that was between them and she shrugged a bit. "So we're both completely new to this, we're both shy, and ...we're both...not sure what to say or do. And it's making everything awkward."
Marshall Kohler Marshall carefully put his Sour Punch Straws in his cup holder as he slowly took his glasses off and put them in his jacket front pocket and looked to her, kind of eyeing the lousy expression on her face as he took a deep breath and spoke, unsure of what words were going to come out of his mouth. "Don't..don't worry about me paying. Even if you had all the money in the world and you were Lady Godiva, I wouldn't let you pay. It's not a personal thing it's..it's my upbringing. The door opening, the paying for the girl. Gentlemen kind of stuff. It's sort of outdated..some people consider it sexist even. But yeah..as for your brother. Well..thanks. He's..a nice kid." He said finally as he took a sour punch straw into his mouth and munched on it, eyeing that the barrier between them as gone. He nodded softly and looked to her.
"Yeah..it is. I tell you what. Let's start over..."Marshall dug deep, looked down, and looked back up, this big, fake smile on his face as his voice as jokingly confident, trying to lighten the mood. "I'm Eugene Kohler. You want to watch a movie with me? It'll be funny because I hear Keira Knightly isn't that good of an actress and I like sour punch straws..."
On the inside, Marshall was chiding himself on the fact he sounded like a moron, not on the fact that he might be funny.
Deianira Athanasios Deianira wanted to chcukle, she wanted to very badly, she wanted to laugh at that, wanted to just burst out with laughter at it, but she was stunned silent. Quite, her eyes wide, she stared at him.
This might be an odd reaction. But one would have to see it from Dei's point of view. That big smile, even if it was fake, had to be the cutest smile she'd ever seen, and it sent her heart fluttering and it turned her cheeks a deep pink. And after a moment she sort of gave this goofy grin, one that looked half lidded and she went to stay something, but it came out a bit..gibberishy.
Marshall Kohler Marshall was scared, the stupid, stupid grin still on his face as his eyes were going into shock mode.
Oh Jesus, she thinks I'm an idiot. Honestly lord..look at her, Look at her...
He was a bit too lost in his own discussion with the lord above to notice the blushing cheeks and the slow growing goofy grin that was genuine. Marshall sighed and looked to her, about to speak when he heard her tripping over her words. He blushed, now seeing her beautiful cheeks looking rosy and that wide, wide grin.
Deianira Athanasios She finally found her voice and was able to make whole real words out of it. She shook her head a herself, chuckling a bit, before she popped a few kernels into her mouth. "You..uhm..you should smile like that ..more often..."
That was all she would say about the topic, his wide smile had made her all...melty and warm inside...figuratively of course. She gave him a sidelong glance as she sat forward in her seat, and she lightly took his hand with her own cooled hand, just her fingertips so it wouldn't be painful, but the gesture was clear.
Marshall Kohler Marshall bit his lip softly and gave a glance to Dei as he slowly pulled his glasses back out of his jacket and just sort of put them back on. He wasn't sure why but hearing that comment sort of made his heart pitter patter a bit.
"Thanks..you should too..and yeah..you can call me Eu.."He sort of stopped for a moment as he felt her cool hand upon his. Goosebumps raised in his body and he heaved small, delighted sigh, looking back at her. He glanced down as that grin, that fake grin was now very much real.
Deianira Athanasios And that real grin got him rewarded with a slight giggle. He was positively adorable when he was like this, "Eu, huh? But only when we're alone, right?"
She leaned back in her seat and she offered him some of her cold popcorn, she was pretty sure that he would decline, seeing as cold popcorn wasn't the most appetizing thing in the world.
"Thanks, Marshall, the reboot helped."
Marshall Kohler "Of course...calling me Eugene will kill my street cred at the mansion. Can't have that..what is it? Homies..yeah..uh, hearing that I'm from the backwoods. Makes me appear less intellectual then I actually am." He smiled. Believe it nor, he felt like he was walking on air thanks to her chilly finger tips pressed against his. He eyed the pop corn and reached over, grabbing a handful and downing it, chewing methodically. It wasn't pleasant..it wasn't bad though. He offered a green Sour Punch Straw as he swallowed down what he could and responded.
"Yeah..that helped a lot. Thanks for uh..inspiring me? Yeah..that'll work."
Deianira Athanasios She shook her head at the sour patch straw, she wasn't much for sour things. The sweeter the better. "I prefer sweet to sour, I don't like things that make me pucker...'cept kisses, maybe..." she blushed a bit more as her fingertips moved along his, leaving icy little trails behind, it wasn't unpleasant if she gave his hand a cool little jolt every now and then.
"Though, chocolate, I love chocolate," she said as she opened the box of Butterfinger bites with her free hand and teeth and then slipped a couple of them into her mouth.
Marshall Kohler Marshall sort of looked at her as he nodded and felt his arm nearly jump out of the seat when he heard the comment about kisses and the feel of her cool hand along his. Luckily, it didn't as Marshall shivered in delight and smiled to her, biting into a sour punch straw.
"Myself..I like candy that has a bit of a kick in it. Chocolates all right but sour tarts, punch straws, kisses..they're a wake up." He blushed as well, chuckling at himself. More so chuckling at how stupid he must sound.
Deianira Athanasios Deianira took the hint and leaned over to plant a kiss on his cheek, before she chuckled, she left a little icy kiss print on his skin. Her grin widens some and she shrugs.
"I guess I'm just a mellow girl with mellow tastes, Eu."
Marshall Kohler Marshall was stunned for a moment. He was probably crimson red at this point albeit the lovely ice print that was left on his cheek as he looked to her and kissed her back, very quickly. He didn't want to burn her, and wasn't sure what temperatures were going to sting her.
"Yeah, and I'm a bit more uhh, spicy, Dei. I would try and say your full name but yeah, that's a bit much to wrap my tongue around at this point."
Deianira Athanasios "Day. Ah. Near. Ah." She said it slowly so he could get it. "Ah. Than. Ah. See. Ohs." Again, taking great care to say her name and how to pronounce it slowly. She gave him a sidelong glance and she chuckled.
"I'm spicy, like one of those spicy ice creams people make with chipolte seasoning."
Marshall Kohler "Ooh. Kay. Than. Keh. You." He grinned back, chuckling as she did, REALLY spell it out for him. He made not of it anyway as he returned the sidelong glance and nodded.
"Maybe that's what my 'codename' should be. Spicyman."
Deianira Athanasios "Spicyman and Popsicle. It sounds like a really bad buddy cop movie." She laughed and she nudged him for both is little smart alec comment and that code name.
Dei tapped her chin for a moment, trying to think of something. "Your code name should be 'cuteboy' or 'hotman' ..orrr....'goofydork'.
Marshall Kohler Marshall chuckled and poked back a bit as he listened to her ideas. He idly munched on his sour punch straw and turned to her, his face being 'serious.'
"They're atrocious. I love them."
Deianira Athanasios Deianira settled back and she watched the movie then, her hand would, from time to time, brush his, or stay where it was on his palm. She was soaked into the movie. Not much kept her full attention for long, but this movie did. The fights, the creepy looking bad guys, all of it was just drawing her in, and it changed focus enough for her to get her interest perked time after time.
Marshall Kohler Marshall's hand would jump from time to time as the movie went on. He was a bit lost on the references but he could not deny the enjoyability of a three way sword fight on a spinning wheel of doom. More so, he eyed Norrington and his shade of gray sensibilities with the utmost interest as the movie continued on, occasionally stealing a glance at Dei.
Deianira Athanasios When she was finished with her popcorn, Dei slid down in the seat and she rested her head against Marshall's shoulder. There was plenty of cloth in the way, so the touch was a bit more comfortable than his hand would be, and she rested her hands in her own lap.
Put your arm around me, Eu. C'mon, do it though that might be uncomfortable for her, she was more than willing to put up with that.
Marshall Kohler Marshall felt her body pressed up against his jacket covered shoulder and he smiled softly. Smiling, he slowly raised his right arm up and wrapped it around her, placing it on her shoulder ever so gently, not wanting to make her two uncomfortable. He felt her head near him and he couldn't imagine being any happier at this given point.
Thank you Jesus..thank you for dieing on the cross so that I may sit next to the prettiest popsicle in all the land.. He soon after chuckled a bit at what he just thought and waved it off, eyeing his counterpart.
Deianira Athanasios When the movie ended, Dei didn't budge, and several others didn't either. "There's something after the credits." Movies these days seemed to e doing that a lot. If it's so bloody important, why not put it in the end before the credits.
She offered him up a Butterfinger bite and smiled as she remained nestled against his shoulder.
Marshall Kohler Marshall happily ate the Butterfinger, not minding at all her lack of budging. He chewed contently, watching the credits roll and the dog be placed upon his throne. His sole comment.
"You know, I probably would of sat through the credits with you anyway, even if there wasn't something after them. But that? C'mon..they could of done something better then that for after the credits."
Deianira Athanasios "True," she laughed lightly. "but it was more of an excuse to sit here with you until everyone else left." Dei finally sat up, her empty boxes and cup in hand and she turned to face him.
"So are you hungry?" Dei wasn't particularly, but he didn't have as much popcorn as she did. "My treat, and don't make me freeze your bum to let me buy you dinner."
Marshall Kohler Marshall, smiled, perking an eyebrow up slightly and nodded. "Why not. I can at least go for a cup of coffee." He said, sitting up and standing up, stretching his arms wide.
Deianira Athanasios There was a fantastic bakery near by, something sweet, they had a little cafe inside it. She stood up and she started down the isle, humming to herself, nibbling her lip. This was a good date, she had to believe it. After a rocky start this was rather fun, they could goof off at each other, and she found that she was feeling something a bit more than just friendly things for Marshall.
Once out of the theater, she took his hand. "there's a cafe bakery thing in that mall across the street."
Marshall Kohler Marshall, some how, someway, had found that this date had pulled a 180. Dei had well..pecked him on the cheek. She held his hand. Heck, she laid on his shoulder. And somehow, Marshall felt awkwardly empowered. A feeling he wasn't used to. He had little time to dwell on it, simply holding her hand as he followed her out and was lead by her, nodding.
"Awesome. So what did you think of the movie?"
Deianira Athanasios "Oh, it was awesome," she said as they came to the cross walk, and she glanced right and then left, and pausing after a couple cars passed, she started with him across the street. She grinned sidelong at him and she shrugged. "Usually I lose focus in movies, like Superman, I zoned out a couple of times, but this one was jumping all over so it..kept me into it."
Once across the street she started toward a shop on the corner where there were a few people sipping coffee and eating pastries out on umbrellaed tables.
Marshall Kohler Marshall nodded contently, just eyeing where they were. Albeit a solid few years of living in the inner cities, cafe's and outdoor eating especially at night still sort of amazed him. He grinned to her and responded.
"It was pretty good. The first movie I've seen on a screen that size in a long time. It was..epic to say the least. I was a little confused since I didn't see the first. I liked that Norrington guy....he was awesome."
Deianira Athanasios "He was a military tightwad jerk in the first one who let them all go, and you'd think for someone who let them all go he was pretty hard up to get them back," she smirked lightly and she shrugged. Stepping into the cafe she approached the counter and looked over the menu. Good, they had milk, smoothies...oo even shakes. She'd order a huge massive brownie and a vanilla malted, before she would get out her little wallet to pay.
Marshall Kohler Marshall would of not guessed that. Eyeing the menu, he settled for a red-eye. He may of not been in a lot of cafe's, but he had read a lot about them. He was interested in giving on a try, knowing that Dei might hurt him if he tried to pay.
Deianira Athanasios She paid simply and waited at the counter for their things to be made. She quietly quirked a brow at him. "Don't you think that Elizabeth looks like our computer teacher?"
She glanced back as the brownie was set on the counter, then the two behind the counter were making their drinks.
Marshall Kohler He looked at her and shrugged. "I can't say..I don't think I've had a computer class yet. I'm fairly technologically illiterate if you haven't noticed. Hence my use of a tape player." He eyed his drink, just sort of noting how it was made as he looked back to her, just sort of asking.
"Dei, why am I still wearing glasses?"
Deianira Athanasios "Because you're adorable, and reading the menu," she said simply as she lifted her hands up and stepped a bit closer. She lifted his glasses slowly off of his face, but ..this close...with his eyes right there, his lips right there, she was unable to pull away so fast, or...at all.
"..th-there.."
Marshall Kohler Marshall felt his lips lightly quivering against hers. They were icey..but he didn't mind as his eyes just stared at her through his lenses as he softly just kissed her on the lips, holding them with intention and purpose for a moment before pulling back, breathing out cold air as he nodded.
"Th..thank you." He replied, blushing a bit.
Deianira Athanasios Deianira's first real kiss! Her eyes fluttered closed and she sort of just let out a tiny sound, maybe a whimper, before he pulled back and she opened her eyes.
"W..wow.."
Somewhere behind them they both heard an 'awww' from a table of adults who had been watching them.
Marshall Kohler It was Marshall's as well. He was practically catching his breath as he nodded. Their drinks were ready but he didn't care for the moment. He looked to her and nodded.
"Ditto..ditto."
Deianira Athanasios Her cheeks were as bright as beets, and she was simply glancing down with this bashful look on her face. She then turned and grabbed her shake and brownie and started outside to those tables.
He kissed me! Ohmygodohmygod, she thought with her heart pounding up in her throat.
Marshall Kohler Marshall did his best to remain from flipping out. Taking his red eye and just following her out. He swallowed again, trying to get the jumpy feeling out of his throat as he nodded, walking outside and pulling a chair out for her as he sat across from her, taking a sip of his drink and just looking to her. The silence was awkward, he bravely spoke up.
"I take it uhh..we're on the same wavelength."
Deianira Athanasios She was scooping off frosting on her brownie, and she looked up, she was practically bubbly and giddy, her eyes were shining and her smile was wide and bright. "Yeah, I think so, " she said offering her chocolate covered finger to his lips.
"I'm feeling very more than friendly things for you. right now."
Marshall Kohler Marshall's grin was plastered on his face and nodded as he eyed the finger and slowly, not sure if he was going to do it right, sucked it lightly off her finger, blushing hideously red. His heart beat like a war drum as he nodded.
"I..I'm reciprocating that statement..yeah..yeah."
Deianira Athanasios Reciprocating. That made Dei giggle, and she settled in her seat taking a big bite of her brownie. She looked over at his handsome face and she blushed a bit more, before taking a long slurp of her malted shake.
"Way cool."
Marshall Kohler Marshall smiled, just loving to see her giggle as he sipped his red eye, his alives coming a bit more alive with a strong, strong caffeine kick. His hair shook with his head as he nodded and took a deep breath.
"Yeah..much uh..much better then I imagined. Yeah."
Yeah."
Deianira Athanasios The hand that hadn't been in brownie lifted as she stood and leaned over the table, and she ruffled his hair, she'd wanted to do that all night. She then sat back down and took another big bite of brownie, smearing a little chocolate on her cheek as she did, unknowingly.
"Way better than the beginning of the date."
Marshall Kohler Marshall just let her hand run through his locks as it was a bit messier and he shrugged it off, taking a bigger drink from his red eye. Damn, it was good.
"Yeah..Hey, you got a little something on your cheek there." He said, trying to point out the smear.
Deianira Athanasios Dei got up and sat beside him rather than across from him and she frowned a bit. She tilted her head, and she turned that cheek to him. "Where?"
She grabbed up her napkin, ready to do something about it, unless, you know, he did something first.
Marshall Kohler Marshall eyed it and slowly slid his index finger along her cheek and picked up the chocolate, placing it in his mouth with a slight smile and said simply.
"There."
Deianira Athanasios She chuckled softly and wiped off any residue off of her cheek. She chuckled and she sipped her own milk shake before reaching over and taking his hand in hers, her thumb ran over his hand over and over again, in a soft cool touch.
"This is awesome."
Marshall Kohler Marshall couldn't help but smile at her, biting his lip softly and looking at her nodding with this huge happy grin. He enjoyed her cool touch..it was nice. His index finger ran along the inside of her palm and nodded. He finished his red eye and scooted a little closer to her, just sort of looking to her.
"This is..is much more then I ever expected. And I like that." He smiled, just a bit closer to her.
Deianira Athanasios "Yeah?" She took another bite, and she looked at him, a warm smile on her cool lips. She rested her hand along the side of her milk shake glass and she watched him.
"What did you expect? Really?" She wanted to know, she hadn't expected this either, the feelings, or the kissing, or the hand touching. She expected something a lot more platonic.
Marshall Kohler He watched her back as he blushed a bit and nodded. "Well..I expected the two of us to go to the movies. We'd be a bit awkward, not as awkward as we started though. We'd watch the movie and I'd probably..steal glances at you as you calmly enjoyed the film. I'd walk you back and yeah..you'd still just be, Dei, the girl who doesn't quite like Eugene that way." He blushed, sort of embarrassed to admit that.
Deianira Athanasios "Well, I'm Dei, the girl who really likes Eugene that way," she gave his hand a squeeze before withdrawing her hand from him to finish up the brownie and shake. Licking her lips she stood up.
"We should get back so we don't miss curfew, and I have gotta tuck the little goober in."
Marshall Kohler Marshall smiled and nodded, following suit as he rolled his shoulders out and slowly took her hand. He jokingly muttered. "I wouldn't be surprised if he was following us." He chuckled softly as he began to lead her out, having an idea of where he was going now.
Deianira Athanasios "Yeah, that little ...silly butt, I think if he had and saw us kiss, he would have blown a gasket or something and turned your red-eye into ice, and my shake into a bubbling goo."
She chuckled as she walked along side him, and she squeezed his hand again.
"You know, if he finds out you kissed me, he'll have it in for you." She chuckled, and she knew he'd find out somehow, whether he did follow or he read it in her journal.
Marshall Kohler Marshall nodded, not too gravely but gravely enough to know that soon his life might get a bit annoying. He eyed her, squeezing her hand lightly back. "Yeah..yeah. I'm not prepared but I'm ready for the onslaught that may come."
They slowly approached the mansion, Marshall eliciting a monstrous yawn as he looked to Dei and smiled to her, opening the door for her.
Deianira Athanasios "You know how they get about girls in boys parts of the mansion and visa versa, so how about we say ..good night here?" Dei took both of his hands once they were in the foyer, and she smiled to him.
"I had a really good time...I hope we can do it again soon."
Marshall Kohler Marshall nodded, holding her hands as he smiled and looked to her. "Yeah..yeah, most defiantly. I"ll see you tomorrow morning?" He asked, before leaning in and kissing her once more, his heart pounding again.
Deianira Athanasios Her kiss was still soft, her lips slightly parted to cradle his lower lip, though she wasn't at all sure why she'd done it, but she was happy that she did. when she pulled back she smiled, her cheeks flushed with that blush.
"Good night, Eu," She said as she passed him to go up the stairs. "Sweet dreams."
Marshall Kohler Marshall simply smiled, feeling her cool lips on his lower one as he shivered and nodded, simply responding with an out of it, content .."Yeah..sweet dreams to you too."
With that, Marshall smiled and began to drag himself upstairs, towards his room, unaware of the hell his life was just about to plunge into.
