Melissa Johnson The whole day, Melissa spent working, and looking for apartments. You see, while the school is very nice, and lovely and all that, it's also very cramped and suffocating. Right now the last thing she needed was to feel like that. She figured the closer to the school, the better, so she stood with her cell phone, near a park bench, with a news paper in hand with a bunch of classifieds circled. A couple were crossed off as they wouldn't allow pets, as soon as she moved out, she'd be getting a kitten, and bringing her cat that she left at her parent's home.
"Damn no allowing pets places," but her mind was also on other things, as she stood there. Particularly it was on how she was going to break the news to Dominic, and how she was going to get on with her life without Chance too. Jamie's advice was all sorts of wrong.
Dominic Petros™ Dominic had been missing for the last day or so and no one knew where he went since he didn't tell anyone where he was going. One day he was studying and taking his classes and the next he was not.
This had to be settled once and for all. He needed to vent. He needed to confront her. Most of all, he needed to break something, preferably someone's face. Preferably pretty boy Chandler's face.
He asked around to anyone who might know where she was at the school before finally finding her near the park bench. Usually he'd be happy to see her but times change. Apparently people change too. He stood there, in plain sight, the inside of his palms bleeding but not too noticeably.
Melissa Johnson Melissa's gaze went up from the news paper, she had been absorbed into it, and when she saw him, she smiled. But the smile faded at the look on his face, and somewhere in the pit of her stomach things knotted and twisted, and she felt suddenly nauseas and scared.
"Um, hey. Where you been? Been worried." Her heart was beating like a drum roll on a base drum, and she licked her dry lips as she slipped her cell phone away, and started to approach him.
This isn't gonna go well, not well at all. Ai-yah. Tyen-ah...
Dominic Petros™ "Findin' some answers is all." His voice was cold and uncaring like she'd never heard before. "Jamie told me 'bout your little conversation. Beamed it straight to my brain." He slapped his forehead with his palm to accentuate his point, obviously upset. "Went to find that Hannah chick a little while ago. Was tryin' to see if she messed with yours.....but she didn't, huh?"
Melissa Johnson "RUNtse de SHANG-DEE, ching DAIwuhtzo," she felt the ball in her stomach as she partially whispered those words to herself. She closed her eyes a moment and she took yet another step toward him.
Jien hwo! That BITCH! Her mind was spinning, let's see if she ever spoke to Jamie again. Ever. Told in confidence and then to be stabbed with it. Gwon nee tze-jee duh shr. Even her thoughts were swearing in Mandarin. She tightened her jaw.
"Ah, no...no she didn't, Dom. And we should have talked...but..I." couldn't find you. She decided not to poke the already angry bear.
Dominic Petros™ "Were you with him?" Again in that cold tone. He didn't know what she'd said and didn't care. Probably something she'd take up with Jamie later. "And what's there to talk about exactly? You got tired of me and got someone else. Happens all the time, why should I be any exception to the rule." He spat out. Of all the times he'd done it to others, he never thought it'd be done to him.
Melissa Johnson "It depends on your definition of with really," her sarcasm was her go-to player. "I ..went to a movie with him, but that's all, there was nothing else." Except the kiss, don't forget about the kiss. She wanted to scream at her own brain.
"And I didn't get ..sick or tired of you Dom. We're just...too different, we don't have much to talk about we aren't alike. It would have ended eventually, that's all. I ..didn't want to hurt you." Well you flubbed that up.
Dominic Petros™ "Yeah yeah yeah, excuses excuses. Heard 'em before, made some up myself."
"Tell me something, 'cause I just gotta know." His eyes narrow a moment. "Was he really that much better of a fuck-buddy than I was or was it something more than what he's got between his legs?"
Melissa Johnson Melissa's eyes went as wide as saucers, and she took a step back. What did he say? She frowned questioningly. "Wh-what? Jamie told you I slept with him? I didn't sleep with him, I never slept with anyone but you."
Her face was a little too pale for her to be lying, and the thought of her committing an act like that was just sickening. "Oh..god I'm gonna be sick." Her left arm went over her stomach and she moved to the trash can that was just over to the side. And she wretched into it. She wouldn't do that not ever.
Dominic Petros™ He couldn't do much accept snort and shake his head. By this point, he didn't care if Jamie took the heat from some of this as well. Might as well spread the love and misery. She was an instigator anyway and was looking for this to happen so she may have never said Mel slept with anyone but would have if given the chance. He hated instigators.
"Whatever. I'm the fuck outta here." He turned to leave but just before he did, he reached into his shirt collar and pulled off a chain around his neck jerking it so the chain broke into a few pieces. It was a locket like hers he'd made with her picture's inside. It hit the ground at her feet as he turned away.
Melissa Johnson It was meant to be a breakup, that's how things went. She wiped her mouth a bit and she looked up. "I'm moving out of the school. You shouldn't leave it."
She figured his days of listening to her were far over. She bent and plucked up the locket, and she opened it, what she saw in it tore her heart, and finally made the tears come sliding down her cheeks. She sat down on the park bench, just staring at it, what a horrible tribute to what she'd done, and all she'd done was let herself be too open with a couple of people.
"I'm sorry."
Dominic Petros™ He didn't hear her. Didn't want to. No longer cared to. He couldn't stay t the school. Once he'd gotten back, he'd pack a few things and hit the road. His seizures were cured if you could call it that so he didn't need this place anymore. Should've known it was too good to be true. It's always something to places like these and as usual, he gets in too deep before finding it. Well to hell with this. He figures he doesn't need the aggravation. To hell with her and that school.
