Edward Malakai

Nightfall

It hits like defibrillator. if I knew what one felt like. If a vampire is ever truly at peace, it is when they do not have to think about their un-life. How much we revel in it. And I do, I very much enjoy the pleasures of my curse but in torpor, pain is non existent. The being does not existent. After encountering 'Rocky', I was in no mood to think about my unlife. A feasting later, I awake, slightly famished but in good shape.

"Mmm..." Moving from first to third person narrative, Edward slowly maneuvers around his underground apartment, grabbing some quick apparel.

...

"I hate summer..." He cursed under his breath. Despite the Smokey weather, Edward was still fashionably dressed. Faded gray jeans, black motorcycle boots, a white t-shirt with the brand "Obey" written in black, reflective aviator sunglasses, a nice watch, cloths around his other wrist and a pack of smokes in his back pocket. He quietly eyed about Brooklyn as he was on the roof of his apartment building.

"Now...was that venue in New Haven or Manhattan?" He pondered softly as he looked toward the neighboring building. Grinning, he leaned forward and pressed off the ground, launching into the air with incredible strength and landing on the next roof top, chuckling. "Never mind, it was in Hell's Kitchen."

And so Ed began a somewhat stealthy roof top leap to reach the rock show.

Madison Templin

Splash-Works was featured tonight. Featured. Madison peeked out from behind the stage, from the curtains, another band was planning now as opening. She looked for familiar faces and saw none, which was a little disheartening. She hoped Harper would come, or even that tall guy from a while back, Ed. Seeing either one of them might be nice, but she was facing a sea of strangers tonight again, though it didn't matter, really.

Tonight they were playing their own original stuff, nothing but. They had enough to put out not one, but a couple CD's already, but if only that could happen. A girl could dream, right.

The opening band was unimpressive, but as she was looking over the faces she glanced down to chests that had t-shirts, almost homemade looking ones, that said 'Splash-Works' and had a picture of a mermaid on them. Ohmygod, we have fans, what a boost of confidence that was going to bring when she finally got on stage, but for now, people milled and talked amongst themselves, Thrashnight wasn't doing so well on stage right now, but they kind of sucked anyway.

Edward Malakai

Edward made quick work of the journey. Stopping short a few blocks of the venue, he casually missed his jump and landed in the alley way with a mild thud. Nothing that a New Yorker would actually notice. The dust that arose off his powerful form only managed to give him a further "rock and roll" aura to him. He closed his eyes, hearing a bass line and large drum kit that weren't in since, he felt he was near. Edward then eyed the one guy in the alley way who happened to see him land...

A few minutes later...

Edward had successfully avoided a mess, opting to go into the concert full. Licking his teeth her approached the door to the concert and handed the bouncer a twenty and just waltzed in, unescorted.

"Heh..lovely." He said, sauntering into the packed room as he went to the back, ordering himself a beer, noting the poor quality Splash-Works t-shirts that would sell at the local buckle for forty dollars.

Madison Templin

Madison was about to duck back in when she saw a familiar face enter. Her eyes widened a bit and a bit of excitement shot through her. She hadn't seen Ed since that first time, but oh well, like it mattered. At least he seemed to like her music, he said he had, but now this was sort of proof.

The last song of Thrashnight ended, and it got a few sporadic claps, nothing that was impressive. People didn't like them, Madison didn't like them, but she could admire them for at least trying.

Stage hands, employees of the club started clearing Thrashnight's less than impressive gear, and replaced it with theirs. They had no color scheme, it was eclectic as their individual styles were, but it was newer equipment and well kept.

They didn't want to give much time between the bands, so as soon as the equipment was set up, the announcer came out and introduced them.

The ones you've been waiting for, give it up for Splash-Works! which received an enthusiastic cheering. People screamed, others held up drinks or lighters even. And they hadn't even begun.

Madison emerged onto the stage, she was wearing a couple of tank tops matched with jeans. One of the others in her band wore no shirt and leather pants, another wore a bikini top and a skirt. They were all bright individuals.

She adjusted the mic and she gave a grin to those in the audience. "Hey, thanks for comin' out tonight, we're gonna be rockin' our own songs tonight, no lame covers... So I really hope you like it." That even got more cheers and some laughter. She stepped back for a moment and the intro to their first song started.

It wasn't dark or moody, but almost bright with a quick tempo, they had a variety of things, and they wanted to start the show with something high spirited in hopes it would fuel the crowd through it all.

Edward Malakai

Edward head managed to somewhat smell Madison when he entered the place, albeit playing it off as any normal person was. To Ed, she seemed bright, talented, intriguing and easy on the eyes.

As the stage hands began to get Splash-Works equipment ready, Edward began his slow and powerful saunter to the center of the crowd. Most people were smaller than him, and those who weren't just seemed to casually step aside as he got himself comfy, eyeing the eclectic Gate take the stage. Taking the top off his beer and sipping it, he stared straight ahead, very much like last time. His sharp eyes were hidden behind his aviators as he just listened to the tempo, the opening line, paying no mind to the crowd reaction around him.

Hmm..what, a speed of 128? Maybe 132. Major chords of course..get the crowd alive. After a bunch of guitars in minor, something that includes a 'La' on the scale would be nice to hear....he thought as he listened patiently, his foot slowly tapping.

Madison Templin

Ed got his wish, two guitars, madly in harmony, difficult scales, difficult notes to hit in such fast succession. And they did it...flawlessly. She liked to start out with a fast rhythm, she liked to get the audience up on their feet, jumping and dancing. She liked to see people live her music, and really enjoy it.

Sometimes Madison's shows became a blur to her. They were over all too fast. But tonight they got a full hour to play. And that was the most thrilling thing of all. Maybe they'd put out a couple encores, maybe. She hoped anyway, she loved to hear a crowd scream for more.

Madison's eyes traveled around the audience, landing on a few sets to make people feel special and wanted here. Then at last her eyes landed on him, and her heart skipped a beat.

Edward Malakai

Ed managed to tune out the audience for the most part and just focus on the band before him. Part of his focus was on the actual reverberations of all the instruments, and not the microphones amplification. His eyes were closed in sweet, sweet pleasure during as the guitars raged in harmony, chords matching up with Madison's superior mezzo soprano voice. His face was calm and collected per usual as he slowly drank upon his beer, his focus always on the act before him. He bit his lip softly as their eyes met, albeit on the surface it's hard for eyes to meet with a thick barrier of sunglasses blocking it. But Edward could feel that they had met.

As if a sign of approval, maybe a hello, or some other message to the vocalist he had met so long ago, he gave a familiar, wicked grin.

Madison Templin

Some people in the audience sang along like they'd heard this song before, they weren't as good as she was, of course, but they were showing their love for her work. She was in her element, the night was hers, well, hers and the bands. She lost herself in the music and in the crowd.

Like usual, the songs blurred, the crowd's cheers blurred, it was over so fast, even if it had been more than an hour, after three encores. Three! That was the highest they'd ever gotten. They bowed, then they finally walked off stage. The crowd wanted more and yet they would just have to suffer, the club wanted to sell more alcohol after all.

After the band was off stage for a couple minutes, those same stage hands began taking down their equipment. This club sure knows how to treat a band. She liked that. She would have come out but she almost thought she'd be mobbed.

A young man approached Ed, seeming awkward and shy, "Uhhm, are you Ed? 'Cuz if you are, Madison says you're supposed to follow me."

If Ed followed the guy, he'd be lead through the back stage door, back into a dressing room she had all to herself, well the rest of the band was already headed home, most of them had class early tomorrow. Madison was lucky, she didn't.

She sat on a couch, drinking deeply from a bottle of water when he'd be shown in, those concerts made her sweat some.

Edward Malakai

Edward made no note of the time. To him, a moment was a moment, no matter how long, and it came and passed as fast or as long as he desired. To him, the concert was long, and most defiantly rewarding.

Edward eyed the awkward and shy stage hand, just sort of staring down at him. Edward replied with a simple nod as he slowly began his march to the back.

"Heh..she remembered me." He said, impressed as his right hand played deftly with a Zippo lighter. Going through the backstage area and toward the dressing room, he let the flunky open the door for him, not wanting to burst in. Slowly stepping into the entry way, he looked about and smiled at Madison, his beer nearly finished.

Madison Templin

"You came," were the first words out of her mouth when she saw him. She had a powerful urge to hug him, and she approached, and nearly did, but she kept her arms to her sides, willed them to remain there.

"I mean, it's nice to see you again." Those bright blue eyes were so full of expression. She was innocent and well learned of life all at once.

"You look good," she said and thought he always looked good.

Edward Malakai

Edward grinned and slowly lifted his arms and slid his aviators up and into his hair, removing a bit of his impersonal nature as he looked down to her. He wasn't sure what to do as she approached. So, sensing her bit tenseness he smiled and replied.

"What can I say? I was in the neighborhood and heard some good things. I figured I'd drop in." His ice blue eyes revealing that he wasn't the innocent type, but he was by no means the villain.

"Well thanks..I don't dress up very often. I'm usually a business suit kind of guy." He chuckled jokingly and responded. "How are you? Why is that guy still here?" He said, pointing back to the flunky who let him in the first place, who had remained silent since his entrance.

Madison Templin

"Uh, sorry..." the poor stage hand hurried out and closed the door, he'd been curious, really.

"Oh, Mark's just eager and curious, you'll have to not mind him," there was something in his eyes that made her shiver. The lack of innocence, maybe, or the presence of wickedness. She clasped her hands behind her and reached for her bottle of water, which was empty by the time she was done with that drink.

"Was our first feature show, I guess we have fans, those t-shirts were probably made in a garage.." She grinned a bit, not that she minded, it was actually very flattering.

Edward Malakai

Edward nodded, letting Mark slip out of his thoughts just as quickly as he had entered them. The innocence yet sheer knowledge of Madison intrigued him. It appealed to his veteran sensibilities to see people idealistic, dreaming, hunting for their goals with wild abandon. He raised his right hand and coughed and nodded, listening to her.

"It's not terribly surprising. You have a unique sound. Unique doesn't always guarantee good but you're one of the few who pull it off quite nicely. You're also very adept at the stage attire." He said, basically insinuating she looked quite nice tonight, just from his lovely tone of voice.

"Your friends were also..interestingly clad. Especially your bassist."

Madison Templin

"Yeah, well she hates to get her tops sweaty..." Madison said with a slight blush and a grin. She shook her head a bit and she glanced down to her water bottle that was so evilly empty. It made her have nothing to do between coming up with thoughts. Ed was a thought stealer, especially when he looked into her eyes like that. That made her knees feel all wobbly.

"Um, thanks, I like to have a unique look, I usually go for the vintage, but it's warm in this place usually, we've played here as the opening act some times, that stage has harsh lights." When she looked back up at him, she tugged at her blonde hair a bit. when she looked up she really had to look up, he towered over her so.

Edward Malakai

Edward chuckled and nodded softly, running a hand through his thick blonde mane as he looked down at her. He enjoyed hearing her talk, hearing her sing. In general, Ed just enjoyed shutting up around her and listening, an activity he was quite fond of as he spoke up once more.

"Yeah, house lights can be killer, so I think you made the fair choice..You look thirsty, maybe a bit hungry. Care to get something to eat?" He asked invitingly, staring into her innocent eyes.

Madison Templin

Madison's smile warmed and she nodded. "Yeah, I'd love to, I know this great little place, cheap and good, wouldn't take us but a few seconds to get there," she slowed her speech however at the end. She wasn't sure if she told him she was a mutant, or not, but he'd find out easily soon enough, and just what she could do.

"I mean, if you like that sort of thing, I mean, I don't got a lot of cash," and she was fully expecting to go Dutch on this, most guys she was around did.

Edward Malakai

Edward nodded and took his aviators of his hair, eyeing down at her as his teeth showed slightly, his canus not extended thankfully.

"Certainly. Don't worry about the cost, I got paid recently. Shouldn't be an issue." He nodded as he stepped aside, his boot heels clicking slightly as he motioned for her to lead the way, his long, very muscular arm extended.

Madison Templin

"Don't worry about cost?" There was a restaurant she wanted to try forever. It wasn't fancy, even, it was simply Applebee's. She had never had enough money for it. Not in her whole life. She went toward the door and grinned widely.

"I have a shortcut." she said as she opened the door, and beyond it was not the hall of the club, not even close. It was a room with walls painted with murals. The ceiling was painted like a night sky, clouds, stars and the moon, the floor was painted like the day. Sun, blue sky, birds and butterflies. She bent to pick up her guitar and started into the room.

"C'mon, I said it was like seconds away."

Edward Malakai

Edward could literally feel the vibes of happiness emanating from her body when she realized she had her pick of restaurant. He wasn't sure what to predict..he half expected they'd be heading to some upscale restaurant that normally doesn't let folks dressed as such enter. However, he did a double take on the door opening.

"That..." He just stopped and pondered it for a moment. That wasn't there before. She had a short cut. He turned to her and followed her, eyeing the room with wonder.

"Are you just gifted or did you study at Xaviers?"

Madison Templin

"Xavier's? Nope." She sat her guitar down by a few boxes that sat in this room, and the door closed behind them. The door that was before them was different, it was thick wood, it matched the door they'd be entering at the restaurant. She'd let him get a look around. "But I am gifted, that's why some people call me Gate, I can get through pretty much any door I wanna, anywhere."

Madison nodded to the walls, painted in such a way that they looked real. One was a city street with a woman that looked like an older version of Madison. One was a forest, one was a beach, and one was covered by piled boxes.

"I did those too."

Edward Malakai

"I see..." he said as he carefully examined the paintings, studying the "older" Madison briefly and just the scenes. He was impressed. The old man was impressed as he smiled a wicked grin to her and nodded.

"Well, you're quite the multi talented lady. I take it sneaking into your room after a night out wasn't hard for you then."

Edward slowly watched them walk into Applebee's. For the time of night, it was not surprisingly, not filled up. Most of the tables had chairs on them. One host, who was quite groggy approaching. He was still admiring Gate's talents, tempted to try and show off his own.

"So..how many times do you sneak back into the house after a late night of partying with this trick?"

Madison Templin

"Sneaking back, I suppose. There were a few nights that I cam in later than my mom knew about." She smirked as they entered the Applebee's, through the front door from her room. The door closed too fast for people to see her room behind it, and she straightened her top out a bit, glancing to ed with a sly look.

"You sure money doesn't matter?" That had never been an offer she was given before, and it tempted her. They had some pretty good salads here. Maddy was a vegan. No meat entered this temple that was her body.

Edward Malakai

Edward followed suit, adjusting his hair and taking his aviators out of his hair and hooking them on the front on the collar of t-shirt as he eyed about, grinning to her. "Heh, so do you need to visit a place before you create the door or just imagine it?"

He watched as the hostess approached them, asking the famous question "Smoking or non smoking?" Ed eyed her and decided to answer one and ask another. "Money is no issue, I got it covered. You care if I smoke though?"

Madison Templin

Madison was about to answer with a definite 'non-smoking' but she smiled faintly and she shrugged helplessly. "I..suppose not. Smoking then." There was a slight distaste in her eyes and on her face, but they were lead to smoking, and given a nice booth. It was pretty dark and intimate. Madison didn't seem to mind.

She took up her menu and looked it over, grinning slightly to herself. Oh, that apple walnut salad looks awesome. and she already had her dinner picked out.

"I'm ah..I'm a vegetarian. I hope that doesn't bother you.."

Edward Malakai

Edward could tell that one his passions wasn't going to be terribly well appreciated. He didn't give much of a damn since he had a comfy booth and he was paying. Reaching into his back pocket as he eyed the menu, he spotted something simple.

Bacon Cheeseburger..rare. He grinned slightly as he slowly pulled out a pack of clove cigarettes and a Zippo lighter, lighting up as the pleasant smell of the clove began to waft a little.

"Oh no..you're..god dammit. I knew it..I knew it. Why do all the rock star chicks have to NOT eat meat." He said with a large grin upon his face.

Madison Templin

"Well, I've eaten meat...just not consumed it." That was derogatory, some might not think she had that in her. Oh but she did. She had it in her to be a dirty mouthed little thing. She smirked as she looked over the menu, a dessert would be just wonderful.

"And I've smoked, but it wasn't exactly...ah...legal, or cigarettes." she smirked, her mother had a stash and she'd found it one day. That trip blew her mind, really, she wouldn't mind feeling that again.

Edward Malakai

Edward raised an eyebrow curiously, hearing the little lady sort of reveal her wilder side. Lil miss innocent wasn't so innocent either as he bit his lip and the sinister grin returned.

"Really? Well, I've eaten my fair share of...things in my life time as well. Maybe someday, I'll share the full list with you." He muttered, in a joking fashion, also derogatory as he took a hit from his cigarette and replied.

"I'm not much for what you've had. However..I've done some other things in my past, stuff that isn't really legal in the states. Amsterdam is a beautiful country, and it's not because it's actually nice to look at." He grinned, remembering vaguely his trips to the fair land back in the 1920s.

Madison Templin

"I wonder how long it would take me to get there. Jumping. And no, I don't need to have been there, I just think of a door near to the vicinity I want to end up and I go. sometimes it works out, sometimes it ends up..not so good. I can narrow it down to..say 'The back door of the nearest house to Yankee stadium.' And I would come out that door. Well I don't actually have to say it, I just sort of think it. Same with any door." Madison shrugged then tapped her lips.

Her mind wouldn't wrap around the idea that someone could use that for darker deeds. She could circumvent security, locks, even old rusted doors. There wasn't much she couldn't get past.

The waitress came and took their orders. She emphasized that she was a vegan, so there would be no meat on her salad. And she ordered a strawberry lemonade to drink. Simple. She waited for him to order, and when he ordered his burger her nose wrinkled up.

"Oh that's so bad for you."

Edward Malakai

Edward listened to her talents with much curiosity, and like most vampires, a twinge of paranoia that he did not make visibly evident upon his face. The sheer power her talent has, if in the improper hands, could lead to the sheer invasion of the sub culture he loosely affiliated with and used as his safe guard.

As the waitress came, he ordered a water to drink and his burger, chuckling as Madison chimed in on his order.

"It may be. But why live life in fear of what might be bad for you? I smoke, I eat burgers, hell, I drink, but I've made it and I'm confident I will make it. You only live once. One's destiny after here is very..very.." He took a hit.

"..unknown. Unless you can open me a door to heaven." He grinned to her.

Madison Templin

"No, but I don't like ..that would be a lie, I've never had a hamburger, actually I've never had any meat at all, you know..the kind you'd ..eat to eat..not...my joke before." Her cheeks flushed a pink and she shook her head in slight annoyance at herself. "My mother thought it would be better if I were raised without it." And every now and then she had the urge to try.

"What's it like?" Well that was kind of a silly question, how do you explain what a hamburger is like to someone who's never eaten meat before?

Edward Malakai

Edward smiled a comforting smile, albeit still slightly wicked as was his nurture as he pushed aside the thoughts of her promiscuity to answer her question.

"Well..it first depends on how you get it cooked. In general, a good burger, no matter how it's cooked will be juicy, filling to the mouth. It's usually not tough to bite into. It's tender, seeing as it once belonged to a living being. From there..the taste is never bland, but can only be described by an actual tasting, and depending on how you enjoy your burger, that varies. I myself prefer my meat rare, but that's just a preference."

Madison Templin

"Rare...as in still mooing?" Madison made a face. She wouldn't dare try it unless he offered it. Then she might. But only then. Burgers smelled good, and they always looked a bit iffy because of the way she was raised... She glanced up to him and she tilted her head to the side.

She stood and reached over the table, leaning a bit as she did and she plucked his sunglasses off of his head, so she could try them on, no asking, just taking, and she put them on with a bit of a grin.

"Where are you from, Ed? Tell me about you. You know what I can do...what can you do?"

Edward Malakai

Edward nodded softly as slowly his aviators were pulled out from his shirt collar, the steel and plastic rubbing along his collar as he just gave her a slight look. He didn't mind. In fact, she looked kind of hot in them as she then offered the thought question.

Now...there's what he remembers of the truth. I was fighting in World War One..it got hazy, this brave man saved me and voila, I'm a vampire. The vague memories I have prior to the war..or the imagined combination.

"A little nosy, I see. No matter..I'll share some. I'm from New Haven in Connecticut. I'm an only child as far as I care to remember and I was blessed to be raised by a very, caring uncle. He was British, well to do man. Wealthy as well. I didn't live in extravagance but most of my life was spent working for him. I attended colleges where I could, worked under him. He was the one who opened me up to classical music and I sort of took it from there." He sipped his water and looked into her eyes, his eyes playing along with his story, but obviously there were things deeper..much more complicated.

"I don't hold a degree to my name but...I'm experienced. I enjoy classical literature, history, late, late nights. As for my talents.. Well, I'm faster then a speeding bullet, more powerful then a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound and..."He leaned in a bit closer to Madison, his toothy grin, pheromones emitting from him.

"I seem to be able to grab peoples attention. Anything else or should we just resort to twenty questions?"

Madison Templin

That...whatever it was, it was heady and it was making her weak. She didn't know what it was from, only that she would do quite a lot for him right now. She rested his sunglasses up in her golden hair, and she leaned forward to rest her chin on her hand, her gaze going dreamy.

"So you're superman? I thought he was a brunette."

Her smirk was sultry and sexy, and it was directed at him. She tapped her lips with her fingertips and she tilted her head tot he side. "You don't have a girlfriend, do you?"

Edward Malakai

Ed grinned, her eyes quite, quite enchanting. Captivating even. He gently planted his elbows on the table as he rubbed his goatee a bit and just loved the smile he was eliciting from her.

"Superman is apple pie, American flags and who mom hopes you marry. I'm none of those."

He ran his tongue lightly along his pearly whites, his eyes taking her in some more as he took a hit. His second response made his voice sound a bit more gravely, the male equivalent at sultry and it was directed at her.

"Nope, I'm a maverick." He said simply, opting to not mention the baggage that would go with even dating him.

Madison Templin

"I like mavericks, never a dull moment when they're around." She smirked then and leaned back in her seat. If she wanted to flirt, he would know it, for she was good at it, had been. she could do the bubbly flirting, she could do the pensive flirting, she could even do the femme fatale flirting. Right now she was a mix of those, and she drew out a small plastic item which flipped open and contained some lip gloss. She tapped it onto her lips, it smelled like strawberry daiquiri. The top of it had said 'temptation'. She then snapped it closed and slipped it back into her pocket.

"Who says I'm interested in taking anyone home to see mom?"

Edward Malakai

Edward had been alive for well over a century. At least 80 of those years were spent in some form of another attempting to woo a women to do some deed, be it for The Duke Wilde or for his own benefit. Ed could play the game, and he rarely lost as he sat back in his booth, his eyes never leaving hers, even as their food arrived. He rolled his neck, his powerful muscles being shown off as he leaned his back, responding.

"My dear, who says we'd be going to your home in the first place?" He grinned back.

Madison Templin

"Touché," she smirked. She had tattoos that he hadn't seen, she had a darker side, though it was hidden behind bright blue eyes and golden hair. Hidden behind a face that looked innocent like an angel. She picked out the apples from her salad before spreading French dressing over it, not liberally, but sparingly.

"Who says I'll let you get away? I could lock you up in my room and you would never get out...though, you might have the powerful need to breathe."

Edward Malakai

Edward's dark side was prevalent. The lines he had walked in his existence couldn't be summed up with a simple dinner at Applebee's. It would require some place dark, a place to fully explore the webwork of what made Ed tick and more importantly, what made Ed tick that Ed didn't know about. He grabbed his burger and took a nice bite out of it, chewing it softly as he held it, almost inviting Madison for a taste as he responded.

"A wrangler, are we? Well, if you somehow managed to keep me subdued, I demand shielding from the sunlight. I'd rather not wake up after such an..enjoyable encounter."

Madison Templin

She was poking at her salad when he offered the bite. She looked from his burger up to him and bit at her lip. "Are you sure?" She leaned over the table a bit and she would manage to take a somewhat small bite of it, before she sat back, thinking as she chewed. Well damn, dead cow tastes good. She tapped the table for a moment and she lifted a hand. That salad hadn't been expensive, of course, not at all. How could lettuce be expensive. She waved down the waitress who stopped.

"Bring me one of those, but..um..cook it a little longer?" The waitress gave her a dubious look before nodding and heading off.

"I'd hate to eat all of yours.." She frowned then and she sipped her lemonade and then took a bite of her salad, which seemed to pale in comparison.

"You need shielding from sunlight? What're you, a vampire?" Joking, of course.

Edward Malakai

He had broadened her horizons. He felt a good deed had been done that day as he took his burger and took another large bite and nodded. He savored the taste, knowing it quenched no hunger he actually had. He sipped his water and finished up his clove as he swallowed his food and listened to her comment quietly. He quickly decided on how to field.

"Heh, and what if I am? Is that an issue?" He said, in the midst of a chuckle, seeking honesty in her humor.

Madison Templin

Madison was looking at her salad, and she slowly looked up, a bit of fear registering in her eyes. A vampire? What did I get myself into?  She swallowed and she nudged some of her salad.

"Depends on if you plan on eating me."

She shivered, her heart was thundering up into her throat and her free hand was gripping the edge of her seat like a vice.

Edward Malakai

Edward could see that she was getting frightened, scared. Now was the time to calm her, to relax her. Lord knows he needed a hot rock chick afraid of vampires and being able to open doors to black guys with nasty, nasty weapons. His voice was smoothing, skeptical.

"Woah, calm down there. No need to look so fearful. If I was a vampire, I doubt I'd eat you..well..depends on the usage of the word eat.  "He coughed and blushed a bit, trying to change the subject and lighten the mood with his dirty comment.

Madison Templin

Her blue eyes lifted some, there was a skepticism there. Was he really a vampire? Was he not? She clenched her jaw a bit and she poked at her salad again, taking another bite. She offered a half smile, she wasn't convinced either way, and it left her feeling sort of ..weird inside.

"Ah...right..."

Edward Malakai

Edward at this point just nodded. He had put her on edge. In fact, it jeopardized their evening, at least in her eyes. There was always the easy way out of this. Find out where she lives, get her in a location where there was not doors and end her there. Edward wasn't above doing it, as he had done it in the past but he...he couldn't do it. He coughed as he took another bite of his burger as he began speaking simply, quietly, in a calm tone.

"It's funny. You know, I was hoping to maybe bring this whole issue up at another time. But, it seems to be here. You're afraid of vampires..just like humans are sometimes afraid of you." He took another sip of water and took out his cigarettes. A certain honesty, age came into his eyes as he began to speak.

"You want to know who I am? I'm someone who's just trying to get by in life, whatever is left of it. In between what I have to do..to survive...I listen to music. I watch movies. Somehow I've managed to maintain some sort of..normalcy when I adapted to this life. Either way, all I'm saying that your 'rational' fear is based out of an irrational understanding. " He said simply, holding his burger.

"You wouldn't touch a burger dare say order one ten minutes ago."

Madison Templin

And to punctuate it, her burger was sat before her as the waitress went by with an "Enjoy." The fear was draining from Madison's eyes and she nodded lightly. "I mean..you haven't tried to hurt me ...in fact, you've been really civil."

She managed a smile, and picked up her burger, she glanced up to him, it was draining her, but it was slow to leave her completely. "Just a shock to hear someone you're interested in is...you know." She took a bite and she savored it. Hamburgers rocked. Now she had to wonder about steak, chicken, and other things. Why was her mother so wrong about this?

"Sorry just..first reaction, can't blame me for it, can you? You're the first for me."

Edward Malakai

Edward nodded simply and took another hit from his cigarette, the smell filling his nostrils as he breathed out and looked at her again, smiling at her and nodding, helping her slowly, and easily get comfortable with the idea.

"Yes..I understand. I won't blame you. I've had far worse first reactions. It's always odd to know that someone your interested in finds out that you're...what I am."

Madison Templin

"At least I didn't scream and head for the nearest door." She smirked the fear gone now, completely. Her grin was back, her glittering gaze was back. All of it. She took another bite and mmmed at it. Closing her eyes.

"What other foods did my mother keep me from, this burger is fan freakin' tastic."

Edward Malakai

Edward nodded pleased. He picked up his burger and munched happily, that youth and vital wicked darkness to him returning to him as if it never left.

"Obviously not men but I don't know, you tell me." He grinned in a joking fashion.

Madison Templin

She chuckled. "I was promiscuous in high school, I admit. I got a few good grades for my ah..ability to make a man feel ..pleasant." She shrugged a bit. "It happens. Not like I had twenty boyfriends or flaunted the fact around, actually you're the first one to know it...ever...besides those teachers involved."

She took another bite and gazed up at him. "I know the face can fool you, the eyes, the way I look. I'm a lot like a little devil on the inside."

Edward Malakai

Edward chuckled back, surprised at the teacher comment. My,my, Madison certain was..well..she was something. He responded back. "As for my experience well...in simplest terms, I've never left a woman unhappy and I've been doing it for quite some time."

He finished his burger and gazed up at her, just listening to her words as he stared into her eyes. His lust, his presence invited her as he simply stated. "Really...show me."

Madison Templin

"Show you?" She paused before she would have taken a bite. She glanced downward at her burger and she looked back up at him. "I'm not about to take you right here.." She trailed off, but take you somewhere was implied.

Edward Malakai

"That's fine, I don't expect you to. To display that here is just improper. But if there to be any taking..show me that devil, Miss Madison." He simply grinned, putting his finished plate aside.

Madison Templin

She wasn't done with her burger yet, but she was getting full. She doubted that would not go straight to her hips and she knew she'd have to work out extra hard for this. let her toes drag up along his leg as she pulled the glasses down onto her nose.

The waitress had left the check when she brought Maddy's burger, so they could leave once he paid. "Why don't you pay the nice lady then?"

Edward Malakai

Edward eyed the ticket, and eyed back at her as he felt her leg running along his. He played it off as nothing as he simply grinned and pulled out from his back pocket a fifty and set it down on the table. The way he left it lazily meant he didn't give a crap if there was change.

"Done...may I recommend my place?"

Madison Templin

"Tell me where it is and I can get you there faster than you can say 'oh god'.." she smirked a little more darkly and she pushed the glasses up over her eyes and she stood, her hands went to her slim hips and she glanced up at the door marked "employees only" and she started heading that way.

It was her talent to be a good actress, though her act was usually everything else that didn't appear like this. She had her wild side and often had to hide it.

Edward Malakai

"Brooklyn...boiler room of the Karlton building. And hun, you won't have enough breath to say much any." He grinned as he followed her, his boots clicking shortly afterword.

He had a feeling this side existed when he first met her. He was glad he could finally see it.

Madison Templin

She opened the door quickly and pulled him into her room, this room that was safety was now holding him too. She closed the door again before people could see

She stood a full foot shorter than him, or almost anyway, kissing him proved problematic, so she lifted her hands and slipped her fingers into his hair before she pulled him down to her level, with a wicked grin alighting those sweet features. She didn't kiss his mouth yet, but she would bite his bottom lip a bit harder than she intended, before she let go to open the next door.

Edward Malakai

Her wicked grin was returned with one just as equally wicked, His hands found a home on her lovely hips as he tried not to let them go to her hind quarters as he purred, enjoying the lip biting as he licked her lips softly.

He grinned, eyeing her as they opened the next door. By no means was it a normal boiler room. In fact, it was fairly lavish. The walls were a mix of classical art originals and posters, a library of books and other items. Sans what appeared to be a bathroom is was a massive studio with a coffee table, a couch, and refrigerator, various other kitchen items and a king sized bed.

As he entered he literally scooped her off her feet and brought her to his height, looking her in the eye.

Madison Templin

"Nice, I like it. But you know now, that you're screwed and I can fi..." she was lifted and brought to his eye level, for a moment her eyes were blank and she had an expression of soft shock, she wasn't used to being handled this way. Sure strong guys could pick her up, she was a wee little thing, but not like this, she felt like a rag doll or a child.

"So is this foreplay?" She quipped before she tried to lean into him, of course the way he held her she was at the whim of his mercy

Edward Malakai

Edward usually was a bit more gentle but well, he wasn't in the mood for gentle as he helped her lean into him as he kissed her. His lips were alive with an indescribable passion, lust if you well as he held her in her arms, breaking slowly to respond.

"If one desires it to be..then yes. Otherwise, I thought it was merely a polite way to bring you to my level."
