Powers:

Shadow Teleportation:
Rose has the ability to teleport, or jump between shadows. They can be no further than a mile apart, and both must be big enough to cover at least half of her form. She can teleport from her own shadow.

Shadow Telekinesis:
Rose can also ‘detach’ her shadow from her person and command it to bring her things. The shadow is no stronger than she is and cannot lift more than one hundred pounds. She carries a flash light about her to create a shadow of her own in pitch darkness.

Shadow illusion:
Rose can make shadows move, and grow. She can make them seem like something larger or more gruesome is making those shadows. She cannot make shadows look like real people or objects; the shadows will –always- look like shadows. She can grow shadows to teleport in.

Rose can see perfectly in the dark, even in pitch blackness.

Powers (Limits):

Any bright light hurts her eyes; she is forced to wear sunglasses during the day, and even some bright nights on full moons. If she goes too long without sitting in or touching a shadow she will weaken, something along the lines of mal-nutrition. She has to spend at least 10 hours a day in shadow or darkness.

Personality:

Rose does have a sense of humor, and she does have a softness buried deep, but she doesn’t show it. Most times she is cold and deadly. She knows just how to use her appearance to take men, and some women, off guard. She uses her looks and skills to get close to people she needs to, to steal or worse. A person could get into her heart and warm graces, but it would take a great deal of time, and trust, which she doesn’t give out easily. She is, at most times, stoic and stone-like. She never wears a smile unless she intends to use it for darker purposes, or someone did the nearly undoable, and got her trust.

History:

Rose was born to a very devoted a loving set of parents. They did everything to make sure she was happy and well provided for. It’s a pity that her grandmother wasn’t so attentive. While babysitting for her parents, her grandmother took little Rose shopping. While arguing with a sales clerk on what price a certain blouse was, a devilish man nabbed her out of her seat from the cart and took her away from a life that might be considered to be normal and loving. Her parents looked long and hard for her, but presume her to be dead, despite still having some posters still up, and having her young sweet face on milk cartons. The only picture they have of her is as an infant, and her given name was Jamie Lynne Foster.

Benjamin Shadowvyre was the man who had taken her, and his sole purpose for doing so was to sell her. Babies were rather valuable on the black market, and with his connections, there would be no problem in getting rid of her; at least that was his plan. When he got home, he found his mother was there for a visit. While he was a criminal himself, he did still care for his family and he wasn’t about to let his mother in on his dastardly life. His mother, Hillary Shadowvyre, believed he was a lawyer. He tried his hardest to keep the infant hidden from her while she was there, but because the child was so frightened; her wailings clued his mother into her presence.

He came up with a story, the little girl was found in a baby seat on the hood of his car in the parking garage where he worked. The parents had left a note upon it, so he said, stating that they had a drug problem and couldn’t handle having the child. They figured that since he had an expensive car that he was rich enough to handle the child. Believing her son, she helped him raise her. He actually led her to believe that the search for this child was a hoax, that the parents would really just abuse her and treat her with ill intent. He got her to believe she needed to be hidden, so she, being a teacher herself, helped home school her. She actually has a good education because of this.

As she grew up, Benjamin couldn’t help but take a liking to her, and took her under his wing, so to speak. She was taught what he knew in the ways of becoming a thief and a killer. His ethos in life was not stellar, and her own beliefs soon became what his had been, sparking a dark streak in her. He, however, never told her the truth about how she was come to him; she knew what his mother, Hillary, knew. She believed that he saved her from a terrible life of abuse and drug use.

She was not taught the proper rules of right and wrong, and Hillary’s visits, over the years, were shorter and more about gaining an education rather than a good structure of what one should and shouldn’t do. Every day she was growing to be more and more like Benjamin.

Her first time being taken on a job with the man she knew as father, it was a ‘rob-and-kill’ job, and she was truly excited. Things went a little cockeyed and she was shot, of course not fatally (just a graze on her shoulder leaving a scar), but it caused her to panic. At the age of thirteen her powers emerged. Instead of being appalled and scared of Rose’s new powers, he could only see the benefit in their line of work, and he began to take her on more and more jobs, and she became very good at what they were doing.

Years later, while attending church one Sunday morning, Hillary ran into Mr. and Mrs. Foster. They spoke, light hearted sorts of things, and her occupation came up. She stated that she was a teacher and took one special student as a private tutor home schooled situation. Showing pictures to the Fosters, she soon found out that all Benjamin had told her in regards to Rose was a lie. She went to him, to confront him, and she threatened to turn him in. To avoid this, Benjamin was forced to take her life in order to silence her. Rose walked in on this, walked in on the conversation and the killing that followed. Knowing that he had lied to her all her life, she stabbed him in the chest and then slit his throat in not only revenge, but to take his place.

She used his contacts in L.A. to make money and a name for herself. She took the jobs he would have. Making a name for herself, however, got her the attention of police and other investigators, even those involved with the government. She took all her possessions and ‘disappeared’ to D.C. to start fresh.

Points of Interest:

Rose does not like to drink alcohol of any kind, nor does she partake of drugs. She likes to keep her mind clear.
