Powers:

Hydrokinetics:

Naima can create water as well as direct it in control. She can make it grow or decrease in size as she wishes.

Waterbreathing: Naima can breathe water as easily as she can breathe air, she has small gills behind her ears that connect with her breathing passages in her wind-pipe.

Waterwalking: Naima can walk on water just as easily as others can walk on land.

Swift-Swimming: Naima is fast in the water and can swim easily up to 100 mph.

Water does not have any adverse effects on Naima's skin. She can be completely submerged for days on end without water harming her flesh, much like a sea creature in that regard. Naima is actually more comfortable living beneath the water than above it.

Naima has the keen ability to communicate telepathically with all manner of sea creatures.

Power Limits:

Naima must have contact with water for at least 1 hour a day, or else she will perish. She must be able to submerge her body completely under water or her skin will dry, her lungs will dry, and she will cease to be able to function. The longer she goes without water, the less coherent she becomes and the weaker she is. She can create water to submerse herself in, but the longer she goes without having been in water, the harder it is for her to create it.

Personality:

Naima is moody and temperamental. She tends to hold grudges and has trouble letting things go. When in a good mood, she is kind and inviting as the calm sea, but her moods change like the ocean and can become turbulent fast. Naima is very wary and untrusting of people as she is so unused to living among them.

History:

Naima was very close to her parents, as an only child, she was doted on and pampered. Unlike most children in such a position, Naima was very grateful and never acted spoiled in the slightest. She and her parents lived on the waterfront, they all enjoyed the water very much. Her father happened to have been an Olympic swimmer who had won a gold metal in his time. They were avid sailors, fishermen, and swimmers. Naima participated in swimming as much as she could, she wanted to follow in her father's wake.

Every summer, while Naima had a break from school, her family took a sailing trip. During the summer after her 12th birthday, they encountered a horrible storm. Being an excellent swimmer cannot help a person in some conditions. Naima panicked, as terrified as it seemed her family would perish to the very sea they loved. In the midst of struggling against the angry ocean, she realized that she could breathe the water. Regardless of her new-found talent, she was no stronger than she had been and she couldn't save her parents from a water grave.

Lost out at sea, Naima honed her skills, she also discovered new ones. Able to swim as fast as or faster than other sea creatures, she was able to avoid teeth at the toothy grip of sharks. Her ability to create fresh water allowed her to come to the aid of other sailors in need.

Over the years, Naima was witness to horrific things such as pirates and other types of villainy. She began to feel disconnected to the world of humans. As she drew into her self, she learned she could communicate with all sorts of marine life. After a particularly upsetting experience, where a school of fish rejected her for being human, Naima found herself in trouble. She found a settlement of people being threatened by a tidal wave, trying to save the seafront community, she was overwhelmed. Seeing that she actually saved the people, they sent her to Washington DC in order to save her life.

Unused to people, Naima took it as another rejection. She came to the best hospital in D.C, and when she reached the states it was discovered that she was the heir to the Daylan estate. Naima has considerable wealth, but must be reintroduced to society. Released from the hospital on her own, she is unsure of what to do, or where to go, and is having trouble with society as a whole.

Naima currently lives in the old Daylan waterfront estate that had been claimed by and restored by the city a few years ago. Now that she is the proper owner, she resides there, of course in truth; she resides in the water just outside her family home.
