Powers:

Madison has the unique ability to create portals or gates through doorways. Upon touching a door she can will it to lead her to an extra dimensional space with two doors. Going through the space to the second door, it is the second door that will lead her to where-ever she wishes in the country, or that span of distance, no matter what country it is, but it will always be the same distance (roughly 2,000 miles).  If she wills herself to, for example, go to "a farmhouse in Ohio," the farmhouse she goes to will be completely random, as long as it is in Ohio.  If she wills "a farmhouse within five miles from Sandusky, Ohio," it is random in direction, but it will be within five miles from Sandusky, Ohio; that also means it could be one mile away, or two and a half, as long as it is 'within' five miles.  The more exact she is with her goal, the closer to it she will come.  She'd need exact addresses for exact places, and to be even more exact she could will it to go to the address and a certain door at that address.  Willing herself with an exact like this would work as she likes:  "Employee break room of the northern most Wal-Mart in Sandusky, Ohio.".

All types of doors will work. They can be glass, a swinging door, rotating door, sliding glass door, or locked, and she is still able to use her powers with them. She can go from one type of door to another, the entry door to her extadimensional space will be the same as the door she first goes through, her exit door with change to be like that of the door that is her focus.  Going from a dorm room door, to the front sliding glass door of a convenience store would make her entry door look like a normal door, and her exit door will look like a sliding door.

The extra dimensional space is a plain white walled room forty feet by forty feet.  The space has two doors, one that leads in, one that leads out, on opposite ends of the room, in the center of the wall. She can store things in this space indefinitely as long as it needs no oxygen or power.  Anything powered in there would be run on batteries.  Since her discovery of the 'room' she has painted the walls with murals, making the room less plain and boring.  The walls can be treated like the walls of any normal room that has dry-walled smooth walls.

Limits:

She and or her companions can only remain in the extradimensional space for up to one hour, otherwise oxygen runs out, as is the only source of oxygen for this space is what comes in when the doors are open. The more people she has in there, the less time they are able to stay due to oxygen levels.

Equipment/Wealth:

Her family was…not wealthy. What she has, she worked hard to get or stole. She has an acoustic and an electric guitar; she also has paint supplies, drawing supplies and the like. She has used her powers to get into stores to steal, of which she isn’t proud, but she’d do it again if needed. She has an older model car, managed to get a lap top, and cell phone. Wears a silver antique key on a chain around her neck.

Splash-Works

This is a rock band in which Madison is the lead singer and plays lead guitars. She and her band are known well through the city and have a small following of fans who seem keen on making their own t-shirts by hand.

 

History:

Madison was named after a famous mermaid.  She was the daughter of a single mother who did whatever she could to survive, including stripping.  They looked at it as something to make money to live off of, and nothing beyond that.  Their relation ship was, and is fun, and up-beat.

Strong with art, music, and smart as a whip, Madison earned a scholarship to ESU for fashion design.

It wasn’t long ago that her powers manifested.  Just after she graduated high school, and obsessed fan of her mother’s tried to kill them both.  In trying to hide, or escape, she opened the door to the bedroom, and her powers bloomed.  She found her unconscious mother and herself in a relatively plain room about 40 feet by 40 feet with another door.  Pushing through the other door she found herself at the hospital, just where she had been wanting to go.  Her mother, luckily, doesn’t remember a thing, and doesn’t know about her daughter being a mutant.

New at ESU, she is trying to focus and learn about her powers.  She's since become involved with a man by the name of Edward.  He's a vampire and has shown her the true goodness of eating meat.  He's also confided in her, told her about dreams he's had.  Their relationship is a nice fun one, but it seems to be taking a turn for the serious.

Personality:

Carefree and fun-loving, Madison thinks herself to be the life of the party, even if there isn’t a party to be the life of.  Funky and fashionable, she has a great sense of humor and style

Notes:

• Was a vegetarian but was recently made aware how good meat is as her mother never let her try it.
