Powers:

Cryokinesis: Day has the ability to create and manipulate ice.

Armor/Weapons: By creating ice, Day has the ability to create armor made of ice, as well as projectiles of varying size and shape. The ice armor can get up to three inches in thickness. Dayanara's projectiles can be hurled at great speeds by will of her mind.

Ice-Telekinesis: She has the ability to move ice with her mind.

Cooling: Dayanara has the ability to cool the air, and substances down at an extremely rapid rate. This means she can also cool her body temperature down to freezing, or even just the temperature of the room she's in.

Breathless: Due to her weakness of heat, Dayanara's body has adapted its way of taking in oxygen so she need not breathe in air that is too warm and harm her lungs. She doesn't need to breathe like most, but can draw oxygen through her skin. That means if she is in water (or any other liquid that contains oxygen), she can still gain her oxygen and therefore cannot drown in simple water (Or any other oxygen rich liquid). Wrapping her body in an air-tight substance would suffocate her, but she still has the option of breathing through her mouth and nose if the need arises.

Power Limits or Weaknesses:

Fire and heat do double damage to Dayanara. She cannot eat hot foods or drink hot fluids as they would burn her mouth, and upper digestive track quite badly. She has an aversion to all things warm, including the touch of another human being, as their skin is most definitely warmer than hers. A person of above normal heat could actually burn her, if touching her too long. The summer is especially bad for her, where hotter days make her suffer heat sickness much more quickly than it does for others.

Because of the way Day breathes, she doesn't like to wear covering clothing, she wears gauzy, and often times scant amounts of clothes to accommodate her breathing.

Telekinesis: She can move only ice, and ice alone with her mind. She can manipulate no other objects or substances in this way.

History:

Dayanara was born in Phoenix, AZ. Her child hood was normal for these times, which meant she had a pretty split up home and family. She was the product of her mother's first marriage to a man who drank heavily and abused both Day and her mother. For a time she was taken into the care of social services. She developed her extroverted and rebellious personality at this time to over compensate for the bad going on around her, as times were hard. Her mother went into rehab and came out a changed woman married to one of the doctors, who helped her there, who was, like her father, Greek. At the time of their marriage, Dayanara was seven. She was fully immersed into the Greek culture, as her new step-father came from Greece. In the new family, Day had a hard time adapting to a loving father who wouldn't harm her; she got into trouble whenever she could. Lied, stole, and did poorly in school. The fact that she had twin half/step-brothers newly into her life didn't help things. She felt forgotten and unloved, which was completely untrue. Despite having a lot of things, Day chose to hang onto her old things, and was often difficult to buy presents for, half of the time she rejected them.

At the age of 15, her mother announced she was pregnant, when they found it was going to be a little girl, Day's symptoms began. She began to get ill nearly every day, showing signs of heat-sickness even when it wasn't too hot. It wasn't until her step-father realized what she was that the doctors stopped trying to treat her. When she turned 16 she discovered she had more of a mutation than simply being cold, and began to play with her new-found powers. Coming from a very dry state made this very difficult.

Her step-father knew of Xavier's School for the Gifted due to his work with psychology of mutants and mutant - non-mutant relations. He suggested that she go to New York and find out about the school and what they could help her with. Day arrived at the age of 16 and has been here for over a year; she's 17 years old and just as rebellious as ever. Both her mother and step-father hope she can get a more level head and learn more about herself there, and so far it's worked as she has calmed some and her goal of becoming a member of the X-Men has given her something to aim for.

Personality:       

Dayanara is not shy. She is...very not shy. She is extroverted in every sense of the word. While she is wary of touch and can shy away from the physical aspect of things, she is still, at the very core, a rebel. She does not like to be told what to do, and has a hard time when it comes to following the rules in any situation. She is impetuous and spontaneous; Dayanara likes to do things on the spur-of-the-moment.

Day has also got a heart of gold. She will do anything to protect an innocent or a person she loves. She won't stop until she feels she's done her best at doing her part to make the world a little safer.
