| Breaker's Rocks |
Located on the northeast
side of town, Breaker's Rocks consist of many tall cliffs and
lovely views. Cliff diving is popular here in the summer, for
most of the waters below are very deep.
This is also the sight of "Lover's Leap." Long
ago, two young lovers, Catrianna and Dallin, were deceived to
their deaths. A young lady, jealous of their warm
love, convinced Catrianna that her beau was having an affair
with a bard-school student. Grief stricken, she jumped
over the cliffs to the shallows that rest a hundred feet to
the east of the deeps where cliff diving is popular. After
finding this out, Dallin tried to stop her, but arrived to witness
Catrianna diving to her death. At the tops of the
cliffs he plunged a dagger into his heart and died swiftly.
In memory of the young lovers, a statue of a
young woman of great beauty stands in a grief stricken pose;
one fist clentched over her heart, the other reaching out to
the horizon, and tears streaming down her forever perfect cheeks. Fifty
feet behind her and a bit to the west rests another statue of
a handsome young man; he rests upon his knees, in tears as well,
reaching out to Catrianna.

Wreck of the Little Dragonfly
|
During the building of the first
walls around Almorel, there came two tenday of violent storms,
unwilling to wait any longer, the first lord's wife, in the lord's
absence, ordered the construction to be continued. One
of the ships carrying the stones from the far western side of
the Lake sank in the harbor after taking on too much water. The
smooth stones still rest upon the floor of the bay. Luckily
only two humans and a dwarf among the thirty crew lost their lives.
The construction was again paused after the accident until better
weather arrived. |
