She learned from them, the ways of fighting, and pistols. She also was used as a ship's pleasure girl when she reached an appropriate age.

One night after a successful pillage, the captain was skunk drunk and made the mistake of passing out. Still in port in Tortuga, she was able to get away after she plunged a dagger through his throat, and took all of the loot she could carry. That was seven years ago.
